SpeedTop: Bufferbloat Test

SpeedTop: Bufferbloat Test is provided by BJ Digital OU. It measures network response times, keeps test reports on your device and offers optional AI explanations. All features are free.

Network tests and device storage

A test sends timing requests to our service. Our service receives your network address and a randomly created installation identity to authenticate requests, enforce limits and prevent misuse. The download and upload load uses Clouvider's dedicated LibreSpeed test service in Frankfurt directly, outside our app's website and introduction-page proxy. It receives your network address and ordinary connection metadata. The app sends only bounded, generated test bytes, never your files, installation identity, authentication headers or saved results. It sends no measurement telemetry report to LibreSpeed. We do not inspect your other internet traffic.

Starting a test initiates these direct transfers. Clouvider operates the remote test service and may process connection or security logs under its privacy policy. We cannot erase its infrastructure logs through the app's deletion control or promise a retention period for them. The app does not use cookies or stored credentials for these transfers. Connection failures stop the test rather than inventing a speed result. Routes to the timing and load servers can affect measurements independently.

Your measured results, labels, saved AI answers, router checklist progress and preferences stay in the app on your device. The app does not request your contacts, photos, microphone, precise location or advertising identifier. It does not require an account.

Introduction page

Opening the introduction page sends a web request to our hosted service. The request identifies this app and the selected page language and platform so the correct introduction is served. Our hosting services receive your network address and may record ordinary connection and security logs, as described below.

The app checks whether the App Store country is Russia and cellular service is active. When both checks succeed, the introduction request includes a single success marker; otherwise it includes no check marker. Individual readings remain on the device. We do not read carrier names, phone numbers or an installed-app list. These checks determine whether a first-launch invitation to rate SpeedTop is offered; diagnostic access is unchanged. They describe device conditions, not identity or intent. One snapshot stays in memory for this process and is not persisted or sent with measurements, AI, support or external pages. A durable marker consumes the first-launch opportunity so it is never offered again after relaunch or update. Hosting providers receive the success marker and may retain it in ordinary connection/security logs; in-app deletion does not erase infrastructure logs. Acceptance requests Apple's native review interface; Apple decides whether it appears and handles submitted ratings.

Optional AI explanations

Before sending a request, the app asks for permission to send the selected measurement summary, language, your question and any previous answer needed for the follow-up. These are processed through our Gowalk AI gateway and its model service providers to generate an explanation. Do not enter passwords, account details or other sensitive personal information.

Our app database does not retain ordinary AI prompts or answers. It retains an installation identifier, request timestamps and result codes for usage limits and abuse prevention. Processing by the gateway and model services is separate from this local app-database storage; this policy does not promise that those services have no operational or security retention.

Feedback and support

If you choose to report an AI answer, the app shows the content being sent and requests your confirmation. The submitted answer, report reason, timestamp and installation identity are stored so we can investigate the report. Reports are removed after 30 days by service cleanup, or earlier when you use the in-app deletion control.

The support form asks for your name, reply address, subject and message. Submissions are stored and sent to our support mailbox so we can respond. Use that form to request access, correction or deletion of support correspondence. Support correspondence is retained while needed to handle the request and any related dispute; it is separate from the app's installation-based deletion control.

Service providers and security

Our hosting, network delivery, AI and support delivery services process the information needed to operate these features. Service connections use HTTPS. A private signing key stays in the device's protected key storage; our service receives its public key and installation identifier. Infrastructure providers can process connection and security logs in operating their services.

We do not sell personal information, show advertising or use information for cross-app tracking. The app includes no advertising or analytics SDK. Information may also be disclosed when required by law or to protect the service against abuse.

Retention and your controls

Saved tests remain on your device until you delete them. Settings lets you export local tests and server reports as JSON, clear local history, or delete test data and reset the installation identity. The reset removes server reports and test sessions, clears local history and router checklists, and replaces the device's signing identity on its next service request. Appearance and language preferences remain.

For security, the service retains retired public identities and AI usage records without an automatic expiry so a deleted identity cannot be reused to bypass limits. They contain identifiers, timestamps and status codes, not the deleted reports or ordinary AI conversation text. Short-lived request proofs expire after five minutes, test authorizations after 90 seconds, and rate-limit buckets are cleared after two days during service use. Expiry prevents further authorization; it is not a promise of immediate removal of every infrastructure log.
